Amrita was at a wedding I shot almost exactly three years ago. So naturally when she reminded me of this, I had to check out the photos. She rocked the dance floor. It was at that moment I knew the wedding would be amazing. We started the wedding day fairly early at her parent’s home in Magnolia, TX. They did a traditional Sikh ceremony for Amit’s side and a traditional Hindu ceremony for Amrita’s side. Both with beautiful pink outfits that made Amrita look like a true Indian princess. Amit was introduced at the barratt via tractor, in true Texas style. There was a small break in between the ceremonies and the reception which was much needed for everyone as this would be a long party going until the wee hours of the morning. At the end of the first dance Amrita & Amit invited their close friends and family on to the dance floor which was a perfect start to what was going to be an amazing night. Then their friends surprised them with a flash mob style dance. My former clients at the wedding had informed me it would be happening so I was not surprised but that did not make the venture any less impressive to me. It was one of the coolest things I have ever seen at a wedding and Amrita & Amit were beyond stoked. There is something about Indian weddings that gives people an unending energy, especially me. Despite shooting from early in the morning until late into the night, I wasn’t ready to go to sleep immediately after, I only wanted to look at all the colorful photos that we had taken. The morning after was painful but it would never stop me from doing it all over again.

With just a few e-mails and a phone call with Samantha, I knew that it was going to be the start of a good day and an even better wedding. I showed up to St Mary’s church on a beautiful sunny day in Austin to meet Samantha for the very first time. Samantha showed up a little after I did but she looked at me, looked at her dress, and said ‘lets get this started!’. Within 10 minutes there were already tears in her eyes after her grandfather came in the room to see her. Her grandfather and her dad walked her down the, one half of the aisle each; during which Louis could not help but shed tears as well. The pastor was great keeping them laughing during the ceremony after which we head to take more photos and to the reception at the Driskill in a vintage car. The reception dance floor was filled with people the majority of the night to a wide variety of music. Samantha & Louis ended the night with a flower exit and then asked Eric & I to join them on their honeymoon but alas, duty called in Austin. Adore these two.
On one gorgeous spring day in the hill country of Texas at Vista West Ranch, Cassie & Dago officially tied the knot. When I first walked in to the hall Cassie’s friends and family were putting the final touches on their beautiful reception decor, hand-made by friends and family purple and white paper flowers. The girl’s getting ready room was full of laughter and excitement (especially since Dago gave Cassie the gift she was really hoping for!) and the guy’s room was focused for.. quite a while, on how to tie a bow tie. Cassie’s father and step-father walked her down the aisle to Dago. Their friend, Alex, with no lack of enthusiasm, read from a Dr. Seuss book leaving everyone at the wedding laughing during their ceremony. One of my favorite moments of the wedding day is right after the ceremony, and this wedding was no exception to this rule, everyone was all smiles and hugs as they congratulated the new married couple. It was towards the end of our Texas spring but the wildflowers, appropriately matching Cassie’s wedding colors, were still out and the perfect backdrop for portraits. The dance floor was going strong all night as well as the photobooth with help from a special performance by her bridesmaids. Cassie has one of the most infectious smiles I’ve ever seen and with the way Dago looks her, I know that he agrees.
Kendall & Keddy came all the way from sunny California to come back to their homeland of Texas for their big day to have their ceremony at Central Christian and reception at The Driskill hotel.
