Sneak Peek: Hien & Fred’s Wedding at Vintage Villas

Today, Hien & Fred were official married in Austin, Texas. They had a traditional Vietnamese Tea Ceremony in the morning followed by a reception at Vintage Villas. Rosa of Austin Wedding Planners was there to make sure the day went off without a hitch, and of coarse, it did! I would would highly recommend hiring a wedding planner if you want everything to run smoothly on your wedding day. They help so much in organizing and communicating with all your vendors so you don’t have to worry about a thing. Rosa did a GREAT job and I look forward to working with her again soon.

Best wishes to the newly weds!

Austin Wedding Photography: Party Booth!

A couple weeks ago I had the pleasure to work with a great Austin Wedding Photographer, James Dvorscak. I second shot for him during the wedding, which was fabulous, but the real fun was operating the Photo Booth (It’s more like a portable, party booth!). It is a great edition to any wedding reception and ensures that you get a photo of everyone at your wedding, and it’s FUN!!! All you need is a backdrop, some fun props and a little bit of alcohol and let the party begin.

San Antonio Wedding Photography: Martha & Jeff

Last Saturday I second shot a wedding for Caroline in Boerne, Texas, just north of San Antonio. The wedding was held at a quaint little Inn called The Ye Kendall. Such a great venue for an outdoor wedding with character. Martha & Jeff were super awesome and friendly. The ceremony took place just before sunset which produced some beautiful light. Check out Jeff & Martha’s slide-show over at Sweet Caroline Photo.com

The first image is actually taken with a specialized Digital Infrared Camera, which produces a dreamy, ethereal look. This camera works best when there is plenty of foliage being hit by direct sunlight, because the leaves reflect a lot of infrared light which is invisible to the human eye. This photo was actually created using the HDR (High Dynamic Range) technique which I showcased here before. It involves taking 3 bracketed images, at different exposures, to capture more detail through out the image.

If you want to see more Infrared Images, I used this camera in my Thesis I project at Texas State University in 2008. Please Contact me for more information about my Fine Art Prints.

Austin Wedding Photography | Michael + Caitlin

I’ve been a little blog post crazy lately but I just had to post the wedding photos that I shot this past Sunday in Austin at Bella Notte on Main (which is actually in Round Rock). One of my former art student friends from Texas State was actually one of the groomsmen, although Caitlin and Michael didn’t know that when the booked me. Either way, when I found that out I knew they would be a good couple to shoot… and I was right! The wedding was super chill and everyone just had a good time over a few beers and good music. Check out their engagement session here and enjoy the slideshow!:)
